Evaporative Cooling System
In an evaporative cooling system, hot outside air is drawn through wet cooling pads by a motor-driven fan. A water pump continuously moistens the cooling pads, enabling the air to cool as it passes through. The cooled air is then circulated into the building, typically lowering the temperature by 10 to 15 °C. However, this process also significantly increases humidity levels, which makes direct evaporative cooling less suitable for work and living spaces.
In contrast, two-stage evaporative cooling can achieve efficiencies up to 114% of the wet-bulb temperature, producing air that is up to 7 °C cooler with up to 70% less humidity compared to direct evaporative cooling.
